Welcome at Vondelparc Resort
Here, you’ll have the luxury of a quiet place while also being near to nature and the hustle of Greek life on Crete. Vondelparc Resort is a small-scale, adults only (21+), eco-friendly resort. Located in the heart of Apokoronas between two authentic Greek villages Armenoi and Neo Chorio. Vondelparc Resort has a traditional Greek look and feel, and we offer 4 modern double loft apartments and a bed & breakfast which are fully equipped.
Once at the resort, you’ll notice that our resort lies in between the White Mountains (Lekfa Ori) and the sea. You have a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains. In the meantime, dip your toe in one of our three swimming pools, get your game on at our pétanque court, enjoy your lazy mornings at your own terrace or have a drink and a delicious barbecue in the evening.
The surrounding area
The white sandy beaches of Kalyves are just a five-minute drive (flat road) by electric scooter or electric bicycle, which can be rented and charged for free at the resort. The traditional Greek tavernas and Greek cafes known as kafenions are just a walking distance away. Sit down on one of the terraces and enjoy Greek hospitality while Greek life passes by. Or explore one of the many walking trails in the beautiful green surrounding area. These walks also pass wonderful sights. Think of Aptera, fossil cave and an olive mill from the 19th century.
If you need the bustle of a city, the cities of Chania and Rethymno are easily accessible from the resort by bus. In both cities you will see a melting pot of various civilizations reflected in the buildings. Stroll through the harbors and historic city centers with narrow alleys where traditional houses, churches, monuments, shops, cafes and restaurants can be found.
You don’t need a car because there is also a pick up and drop off service available from and to Chania airport and to (touristic) sights.
Opening Vondelparc Resort
We open our brand-new resort in May 2024. You’re very welcome! The price of a loft apartment is from €51,50 per night for two persons. Would you like to come, but the check-in and check-out days + minimum stay of 7 days are not convenient?

Construction Progress Vondelparc Resort
Currently Vondelparc Resort is under construction. You can follow our construction on our Facebook or Instagram page.
If you’ve seen the before pictures: our estate started as an olive grove with 47 trees. Even though the grove needed to give way to our resort, most trees are replanted on the property, giving you the chance to walk amongst these ancient trees. An added benefit of this grove is our Vondelparc Resort Olive Oil that we’ve created from the olives. Each year, from the moment we’ve bought the property we’ve harvested the olives giving us the chance to offer you the authentic, rich olive oil right from the land.
The build
Removing and replanting the trees was one of the first steps we took. But since then, we’ve had the amazing help of 3D Construction to construct our new apartments and bed & breakfast from January 2023 onwards.
The loft apartments and the bed & breakfast are built up using eco-friendly walls from ECOBEST. These walls ensure that you’ll stay pleasantly cool inside your apartment during the lovely and granted sunny summers here on Crete. We harness the power of the sun with our solar panels that cover the energy use of the entire resort.
